Photos of the item do not reveal the dual USB-C cables it contains to connect it to the laptop. This might come in handy if you have a different laptop you'd like to connect to this dock, but it has only one USB-C connector (and lower power requirements than the 7440). So, if you want, you can separate the two connectors and plug just one in.

I guess it needs this so that it can deliver the maximum power this laptop requires (I think max power over a single USB-C is 100W). This docking station has a thick cable coming out of it that ends in a dual USB-C connector. The dual USB-C connector is unique in that the two connectors are keyed to fit together and held there with a magnet.
We just got the docking station, it works great as expected. This is a unique docking station, and I use it practically daily. Great docking station. I'm running two 4K-60Hz monitors and numerous USB-A peripherals from this docking station with no problems whatsoever.
If you need a dock for your Dell Precision laptop, consider this one - it's great! We use it for setting up a laptop and 2 DELL monitors.
