Amanda tells a beautiful story of romance and what it means to love yourself, family, and friends. I really enjoyed all the different types of characters that were in the book and how there was much more going on under the surface. The absolute heartbreak of a breakup was so well portrayed it brought tears to my eyes. I found this book slow starting to begin with and wasn’t sure if it was going to have me hooked.

The book covers so much, love, betrayal, loss, friendships, family, recovery, personal growth - I don't think anyone hasn't been burned by love yet we all respond differently. I felt so much for the main character Merrin. I was hoping she would find her happy ending. This was such a heartwarming and emotional story.

I really liked Merrin and I really felt for her on her wedding day and how awful it must have been for her, the pain and humiliation she must have felt. I enjoyed reading the POV’s of the side characters too.

Well done Amanda another fantastic read. Also some of the life experiences I have had were so well portrayed it was like the author could read my mind. To Love and Be Loved is the new, must-read, emotional drama by the amazing Amanda Prowse. Six years later Merrin is still scarred by her heartbreak - tragedy strikes and Merrin must come home, will she finally be able to face her past and move on with her future?

But once it got going I was glad I persisted as I really enjoyed it. I love all of Amanda's books, and she is an author, I auto-buy. .

Merry is left heartbroken and devastated on her wedding day, and Merrin leaves to start her life a fresh somewhere new, away from the wagging tongues of a small community. I enjoyed the ending and felt it left the door open for the possibility of (fingers crossed) a second novel.
